Easy CGI grew out of a regional ISP named SpyralNet, that was started in 1996. Over time, we found a greater customer need for quality Web Hosting services, and by 1999, Hosting had become our sole focus. We are proud to say that the majority of our Web Hosting clients from those early days are still with us as customers, some for longer than 10 years.

How has web hosting changed since Easy CGI began?

New technologies hit the market and are used by a greater population much faster than even 2 to 3 years ago. Keeping pace with new products and services is an integral part of how we make our customers happy.

I read alot about Easy CGI growing and expanding. How has exponential growth changed the company?

In 2004 we moved our Data Center and company headquarters to a new facility. This move allowed us capabilities for growth that are almost limitless. From day 1, we have always focused on projecting future expansion so that there are no surprises when that growth occurs.

What one quality about Easy CGI helps it distinguish itself from its competitors?

Consistent & Quality customer service allows us to keep our customer happy, while also giving us valuable insight on what is needed to improve our service.

Can you give us some insight into any upcoming promotions or new products or services you about to announce?

We have spent the last 6 months revamping our website, and with this launch we have offered a suite of new products and features. First among them is our Virtual Private Server offering, which has already seen tremendous success. On the shared hosting side, our feature set was improved with an increase on monthly bandwidth to 1000GB (1 Terabyte) on our Advanced Plan, and 4000GB (4 Terabytes) on our Advanced X4 plan. We also introduced a bundled website builder, domain registration privacy protection, and 1-step installation support for some of the more popular web applications on the market, including OSCommerce, DotNetNuke, and Community Server. Now that the website launch is complete we are focusing on a scheduled release of enhanced services for the foreseeable future.

How do you think problems like spyware, viruses, and SPAM will effect the growth of the Internet and web hosting over the next couple of years?

It is only a matter of time before software vendors and ISPs truly get a handle on this problem. Once that happens, I suspect that the problem will wipe itself out, as there will no longer be an incentive to do it.

What other factors do you think will significantly impact the hosting world?

We are eagerly awaiting the next release of the next Windows server and Windows Web server (IIS) version. These technologies will greatly improve Web services functionality as well as allowing for modular expansion of Web hosting services.

How does Easy CGI thrive in such a competitive business as web hosting?

We are constantly striving to improve our products and services, as well as to keep our customers happy.

What is the one thing that makes you jump out of bed in the morning?

Knowing that I can make a difference to our customers by providing a quality and affordable service.

On the other hand, what is the one thing that keeps you up at night?

The constant internal dialogue I have with myself about what to do tomorrow.

What do you see as the largest growth areas in web hosting and how is Easy CGI positioning itself to take advantage of them?

The Virtual Private server market is going to undergo an explosion over the next 2 years. We have only just started offering this service, and already we are preparing ourselves for exponential growth due to the overwhelming interest in this product.
